Here are some reviews on some latest movies/songs/books I’ve been watching/listening to/reading. I’m going to try and do this every week so eeennnnjooooy!!

MOVIE: The Prestige starring Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale. Four out of five stars. **** It’s one of those movies that you can’t really explain without giving away the ending. But basically, two magicians are competing against each other in the early 1900’s England. A vendetta between them drives one to obsession (Hugh Jackman) on how the other (Christian Bale) accomplishes a trick that just might be real. The overall creepiness and kinda spooky air was very mysterious and added to the glamour. The main reasons it wasn’t five stars was because there were too many unanswered questions at the end.

ANOTHER MOVIE: Newsies starring Christian Bale. (Voldemort and I really like Christian Bale.) Five stars ***** Yay for musicals! Some people will wonder why I gave it five stars *coughmusicalhaterscough* but to me, it’s a wonderful tale about the newspaper boys’ strike in the late 1800’s. The romance was a little off, but the music, spot on! I want to organize a strike now…

BOOKS: The False Princess by Eilis O’Neal. Five stars. ***** I love a good princess mystery full of intrigue. When Nalia is told that she is not really a princess, but simply a stand-in for another one, she must learn how to become a commoner when living with her grumpy aunt and a scatterbrained wizard. The heroine, Nalia and then Sinda, is very likable and real. She isn’t perfect and she struggles with her locked-up magic and unhappy twist of fate. The secondary characters were amazing, I especially loved the scatterbrained wizard. 🙂

Also, Unwind by Neal Shusterman. Three out of five stars. *** A very creepy post-apocalyptic book set after the second civil war. It was fought over abortion and the decision was made that abortion was murder, but during the ages of thirteen and eighteen, kids could be “unwound”. “Unwinding” consists of the person being taken apart, piece by piece so they are not technically dead. Three “Unwinders” escape from their fate and try to make it on their own. Three stars because of creepiness and a little swearing. I wasn’t aware of it when I read it. Ooops!

SONG: Headphones by Britt Nicole. Five stars *****. Because it’s awesome. It’s a song about fitting in, with such a catchy beat and message my rock-loving friend Voldemort loved it. Go look it up. Now. Hahaha. You don’t have to. But you’re missing out! *Innocently whistles*

Any feedback?
